FrIdAy!!

It's Friday :) I should be working on month end stuff here at work but I'm not feelin' it...and I've got all day. EL is here at work with me for the 3rd day in a row which stresses me out to the max and gives me a headache. She likes to hang out here and it's okay since Dr. Travis is out of town this week. She just likes to be busy and there's only so much she can do. Yesterday she cleaned the books in the lobby, organized the magazines, cleaned the front window and hung many coloring pages on the walls. Dr T stopped by yesterday afternoon, saw all the work she was doing and rewarded her with a pack of peanut m & m's and $10. She was thrilled. Madison has been living out of her suitcase all summer, it seems. She is in Florida with Bayley this week and from the looks of all their pictures, is having a great time. The child wouldn't be happy unless she was on the go. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to share since the last time I blogged. My camera is officially broken, which breaks my heart just a little bit. I carry my camera with me everywhere. But hey - my birthday is just around the corner...wonder if I could get Damion to buy me a really nice camera? i kinda doubt it.

I had big hopes of going to the lake this weekend but those plans got smashed when Damion told me I had to go to a party that Gabriel (his head mexican) is having for his daughter on Saturday. And as it turns out, mom and dad are going to visit Tiff & her family this weekend anyway so it just wouldn't have worked out. Maybe next weekend.

So I have no plans (other than that party) for the weekend. Bele Chere starts today and that repulses me so no, I won't be attending and my new bff (who shall remain anonymous because she's ashamed) hasn't really decided if she wants to hang out with me....I think this weekend is gonna be boring. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

NKOTBSB

Let me preface this by saying - as you get older, you really don't have very many favorite days (other than the life changing ones). This night was one of my MOST favorite days.

Saturday, July 23rd 2011. My day started off with lunch at Moe's with KimBERLY (she's my new bff - but don't worry Cindy, you haven't been replaced). As I was leaving, Laura called to tell me that her brother-in-law (who happens to be the manager for the Backstreet Boys) would have floor tickets waiting on us at Will Call. I had no idea where our actual seats were located, but knew they couldn't be bad seats since we had paid $100 a piece for them. I was delighted to have floor tickets though. The closer the better! I called Tiff and told her our news. She was thrilled! I got to Greensboro at about 3pm. Tiff had arrived just a few minutes before I did and had already checked out our hotel. It was decided that we were not going to stay there. So we were off to the Sheraton, which was lovely. There was even a discounted rate because of the concert. yeah! Once in the hotel we had to discuss the t-shirt situation. Tiff had made our shirts with puffy paint the night before but they hadn't dried completely and on the way down, they melted....

so we were off to Michael's for more supplies. En route, Tiff called will call about a total of 3 times to see if our tickets had arrived yet. We were anxious, because she had already called two of her friends to come down since we potentially had 2 extra tickets. So they were on their way - only we didn't have our tickets in our hand yet, so we were a bit on edge. The last time we called they told us that we would need to come up right before the show and check with the Will Call booth. So that's what we did. And sure enough, they were there! 7th row!!!!! I couldn't believe it.

Besides the concert and all the excitement that brings, I actually really enjoyed my time with my sister. You see, the first concert we ever went to was New Kids on the Block. It meant something to us to be able to go back together. We had a blast. Nothing could have made it any better. I liked her friends too so that was a plus! Here are a few pictures -

This picture was taken right before Joe looked up and smiled at me. My heart melted.

This is Nick, Tiff's man. He was pretty hot.

Because we had on bright florescent shirts (and glow bracelets), we were glowing when the lights were down and the black lights were on. And because we were on the 7th row, it wasn't hard to see us. Brian waved and winked at us many times. We were like two little 12 year old girls. Didn't bother me a bit, I was not ashamed.

The opening acts were good too. A boy band called Midnight Red opened up and sang 2 songs. Then Matthew Morrison from Glee put on a really good show (he was hot too). All in all, an amazing 24 hours.

Hootie and the Blowfish concert is August 13th. As much as I love me some Darius Rucker, I'm thinking it won't hold a candle to NKOTBSB.

Happy Birthday Emma-Leigh!

9 years old. It's hard to believe. This year EL decided to have a pool party at the Asheville Racquet Club. It was a rainy, cold day. only 65 degrees that morning but the kids didn't mind at all. They all had a great time! Here are a few pictures...

After the party, EL had asked if Robbie and Brody could come over and jump on the trampoline with her. So they did. It was fun hanging out with KimBERLY and Cindy. I really enjoyed it. So we hung out, watch a dumb movie then went to French Fryz for dinner then browsing at Target. Sunday morning we all met back at the pool and had a much nicer day. It was hot and sunny! Then Kim and Robbie came back to the house where we watched USA lose the soccer game. Then went to Cindy's for dinner. Funny how when you don't make plans the day turns out just perfect. Does that make sense?

I can't believe Emma-Leigh is already 9 years old. She's still my baby though. Still acts like one too. She's so much fun when she's in a good mood. Very funny girl and quite the cuddler.

I'm a little behind on blogging and currently, my camera is broken and I can't get my awesome pictures off from the NKOTBSB concert. Stay tuned...

I didn't realize....

I was so far behind. Now I'm overwhelmed...even more.

Let's rewind back to Thursday night, June 30th. Shawn's birthday. Shawn, April, Damion, Abigail and I went to Elena's for Shawn's birthday dinner. All of us (except for Abigail) had chicken. We all got sick. Diarrhea sick. Every 45 minutes (or less) on the toilet. Too much information, I know but you need the full story. Remember my spa day I was gonna have on Friday? well, I still went. It lasted an hour and a half. I almost didn't make it. It is the worst feeling in. the. world. to not have control of your body. I enjoyed the spa treatment - it was probably the best massage I have ever had - and I've had quite a few. I just couldn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked because the whole time I'm praying that I just make it through it. As soon as it was over, I rushed to the bathroom :( Cindy went with me that day and had a body wrap. Since her treatment didn't last as long as mine, she was waiting in the lounging area for me, relaxing, enjoying her time. All I wanted to do was take a hot shower and get out of there. I want to go back. After that, Cindy and I went to the mall. I really wanted to enjoy my day. I REALLY did. During our brief time at the mall, I probably went to the bathroom at least 3 times. Not fun. I hate public bathrooms. So needless to say, my lake trip was postponed until later on in the afternoon. My plan was to go straight to mom and dad's camper but I had to stop at the lake house on the way down TO USE THE BATHROOM. ugh! and I was SO hungry, STARVING. So when dad served up some chicken and corn on the cob from the grill I dug in. It didn't last long. Then the next day, I had to be taken back and forth from our little island of Jamaica to the bathroom. I was miserable. Finally, on Sunday I was feeling MUCH better. Here are some pics -

This was one of the highlights of the weekend. Damion's dad would come speeding by on the jet ski and splash everyone. It was a HUGE spray of water and the kids (even dad) LOVED it!

Hooray! For those of you that were wondering, Damion made it down on Sunday afternoon - but left after dinner Sunday night.

Alejandra drew a hopscotch board(?) and the kids had a fun time! They never REALLY knew how to play until she told them.

On Monday, when we returned home, we went over to Cindy & Randy's for a cookout with them, Michelle & Scott. Damion worked too late and didn't get to come.

Now that last week is covered - here's what I've been doing this week...missing Madison.
She has been away at Southwind Wyldlife Camp in Florida since last Saturday night. I have missed having her at home. She likes to be away, she's very independent so it doesn't really come as a surprise to me that I haven't talked to her ALL week. I'm disappointed but the pictures that the counselor has posted has assured me she is having a wonderful time. I'll share a few of them with you :)

This is one of my favorites. So natural, so Madison. I bet she didn't even know it was being taken.

Looks like they had a fun time, huh? I can't wait to hear all about it. She will be home around 11:30pm tonight!

While Madison has been off at camp, Emma-Leigh has spent her week at Sarah's Summer Day Camp with Riley and Reagan. She has enjoyed her lazy week although staying up late and getting up early has taken its toll on her. She is very tired.

Brett and I took the girls to Chick-fil-A on Tuesday night for "Family night".

Wednesday night, Brett and Sarah went out for drinks with their friends and I got to take Riley & Reagan to my house :) mom came over too. We got food from KFC and took it home to eat. Riley ate a chicken leg for the FIRST TIME! She liked it!

Yesterday, Sarah showed her art skills by painting the girl's faces...

that actually scares me just a little bit.

That's about it! Tomorrow we will have Emma-Leigh's birthday - pool - party at the racquet club. Let's hope it doesn't rain. Welcome home Madison! I have missed you!!!
