Pretty uneventful night at our house last night...I met mom and Emma-Leigh at the gym, then picked Madison up from Cameron's afterwards. We went home, I fixed tacos...that was about it. The usual laundry, showers, homework, American Idol (which I'm not that into this season) was also done.

Here is Emma-Leigh doing her spelling words out in the driveway....

and Madison working on her family crest project....

That's about it!

Lunch with Georgia, Jeanne, Holly and Aimee today. Fun!

Am I worthy?

My heart is heavy...do I intentionally do things to hurt other people? Am I a good friend? Am I valued? Treasured? Special? I feel like friends are precious. The older you get, the fewer they are. Am I just pondering whether or not my expectations and intentions are the same as my "friends"?

I'm busy. My husband works ALL the time so it's mainly just me when it comes to running things around the house. Don't get me wrong, Damion plays a HUGE role in our family. He provides, I do all the messy work. My point is. . .I don't have a lot of free time. If something is going on in your life and I don't ask you about it, it's not that I don't care. It may be that I've forgotten. Or that I have too many lists going on inside my head of what I have to do when I get home from my full time job. Baths, homework, laundry, take care of the dogs, dinner...the list goes on and on. I am very obsessive-compulsive. I tend to be somewhat of a pushover. I am very vulnerable. I get taken advantage of. Sometimes I vent to other people about my situations instead of telling the actual person what it is I'm bothered by. I guess I would appreciate my friendships more if I felt like I had a bit of control.

I just have a lot on my mind right now. This day in time, I think you can trust very few people.. . which is sometimes why I just stick to my little circle - me, Madison & Emma-Leigh. So if I have offended you in some way, shape or fashion...I am sorry.
The song you are hearing right now....yeah, that's Journey's - Don't Stop Believing being sung by the cast of Glee. Last night, I was walking past Madison's room - her door was closed but this song was blasting! I LOVE this song! Love Glee! I busted the door open and started singing (loudly) to the chorus. I should tell you that Cameron was at our house last night while Dawn was at the gym and she ate dinner with us...my point is - they were stunned! I am jamming to the song and they are staring at me wide-eyed like...is she REALLY jamming out to this song? It was so funny! They laughed, I was forbidden to ever do it again and that was that. I was lovin' the song choice though!

I never made it to the gym last night. Madison had stage crew yesterday and it ended at 5 instead of 6 so I had to go pick her and Cameron up from that. That was actually a good thing because I had throw-up sheets to watch...blech! But it all got done and I was able to get in bed around 10 and work on my marriage book. Madison was up pretty late doing homework - area and perimeter. Not something I can remember how to do but of course her engineer dad was able to help her out!

Today I will go to the gym. That's my plan...we all know that our plans can change - so whatever is in THE plan will happen! Day 2 of no sweet tea. It's all about the struggle, right? I can't imagine going without food for 40 days. He's The Man!

A little bathtime humor for you from last night...Emma-Leigh said "Look mom! My boobies are gettin' puffy! They are growing!" She is such a funny girl!

Lunch with Dawn and Heather today! yay :)

Soon these little girls are gonna be all grown up and gone....

So my weekend didn't really go as I had planned. Friday night Damion worked late. He didn't get home until around 8:45 so when he got home we went to eat dinner at Waffle House. I have nothing against Waffle House but it wasn't really my idea of a weekend without the girls dinner. We got home about 25 minutes later which is pretty funny to me. Saturday morning, he got up early and went to work. I had promised I would not clean all weekend - and I kept my promise! I did do laundry but that was all. I decided to get up and immediately take a shower Saturday morning..no lounging around. I was able to sleep until 9 though and that was heavenly! Brandon and Kaly came over around noon and hung out for about an hour or so. That was fun having Kaly there. She really enjoyed playing with Muffin and Maggie. Later, I decided to go to Target and Old Navy. I found an Easter dress for myself, got some laundry detergent, bought a cardigan from Old Navy and then headed back home. Fun! Saturday night, Damion, Shawn & April and I all went to Hickory Tavern for dinner. It was pretty good! Damion was exhausted but had lots of work he did not get done so he was a bit on the ill side. We were home around 10:15. Sunday morning, he got up early and was at the office by 7:30. I got up and went to church, then went to brunch with Cindy, Ashley & her kids at Tupelo Huney. Then Cindy and I decided to go to Old Navy. I didn't mind...Damion was working and the girls weren't home from Pinehurst yet. After that, she took me home and I typed 2 reports when Damion came home! Yay! I wasn't expecting him until later so we watched a movie until it was time for me to pick the girls up from mom and dad's. They had so much fun with Jaidyn & Ayla but were happy to be home.

Last night, Emma-Leigh started throwing up. She woke up around 2:30am to come get in our bed but threw up soon after (and made it to the toilet). The second time, about 5:15am wasn't as successful and she tossed her cookies while sitting in my bed. Needless to say, I didn't go back to sleep but she did and when she woke up she said her belly was hurting a little bit but she wanted to try to make it to school. And she did! Hooray! Let's hope this was just something she had and it doesn't get passed to Madison or to Jaidyn & Ayla. Today is Monday and I will be going to the gym right after work. Madison has stage crew for musical theatre this afternoon and needs to be picked up at 6pm so I will only get to be at the gym for 30minutes. Better than nothing, I guess!

A weekend without the girls....

At this very moment, Madison & Emma-Leigh are on their way to Pinehurst with mom, dad and Nana. They are going to visit Tiff and her family and to join Ayla in celebrating her 3rd birthday at Monkey Joe's. I have decided to stay behind and try to spend some time with Damion. Not sure how successful I will be...he will be working tomorrow but I am hoping to tag along and see some of his work. Hopefully tomorrow isn't a paperwork day and I can do as I've planned. I should tell you he doesn't know that I want to tag along - so it may not work! I am gonna bring a book, I'll promise not to be too distracting.

There are no plans for tonight and I haven't talked to Damion since this morning so I'm not sure if we will do anything or not. Knowing him, he will probably be too tired. That's okay. Tomorrow night we are going to Hickory Tavern for dinner. Shawn and April will be joining us. I have vowed to do no cleaning this weekend. I hope I can stick to it.

In the meantime, I have been doing lots of thinking about fasting. Pastor Bruce has encouraged us to fast beginning Sunday night until the following Saturday night. This does not have to be with food, although Jesus did fast for 40 days, there are other ways of fasting and bringing yourself closer to God. I haven't yet decided or been lead to do a certain kind of fast. Maybe it will come to me eventually.

I hope that Madison & Emma-Leigh have a FABULOUS time with Jaidyn and Ayla. They have looked forward to this weekend for many days. I am hoping to take the girls back to visit them on Easter Sunday, after Church and our traditional egg hunts. Of course, that depends on their plans as well. Tiff said they might go to the beach. So we will see! Happy weekend everyone!

Wednesday~

Today is Wednesday. The sky is blue and the birds are singing. It is supposed to get up to 71' today. Let's hope it does! Lots of things to accomplish in the next few days and man, am I tired already! Tonight we will be going to church. Cindy, Ashley (Cindy's sister-in-law) and I have been taking a class on marriage. It is a women's only class and it is called Women Making a Difference in Marriage: Building Love, Joy & Committment. I am really into this study. I look forward to the time after the girls are in bed, to sit alone and read. I have learned a lot but I feel like if Damion were also involved it would be much more beneficial. Our instructor has told us not to let our husbands know we are doing it but that is a little hard in my house. He has seen me working on it and reading the Bible so he knows I'm up to something. I do struggle though. It feels like since he isn't involved, since this lesson is really about me changing and making a difference in my life that he should work on stuff too. It seems like everytime I try to apply my studies, that something will happen that will make it so very hard for me to follow thru. The instructor explained this also. She said that the devil will try everything in his power to discourage it. God is in the business of building marriages and the devil just tries to destroy them. It is so true! I love my husband very much but I am quick to smart off, don't EVER bite my tongue and sometimes I don't act very supportive of him. Our husbands need us to build them up, we all need to be built up daily. Love the one your with!

Our "professional" cleaner.

So going home after work yesterday was...TERRIFIC, WONDERFUL, PLEASANT, REFRESHING, LOVELY, EXCITING, AWESOME.... and CLEAN!!! I am pretty certain almost every one of you know how much of a clean freak I am. Well yesterday, someone else who is pretty much just as freaky about cleaning as I am, came to clean our home :) She did an awesome job and I am so truly greatful! Our "professional" (as Emma-Leigh liked to call her) did things I absolutely never do like baseboards, window sills, chair rail molding, that sort of thing. She did the routine stuff as well - bathrooms, kitchen, floors but it is amazing how much difference a clean house will make you feel when you get home. The girls were pleased and are gonna try really hard to keep it that way...until the next time she comes :)
