"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." If I can't do something right, completely, and be able to finish it all....it just doesn't happen. So no blog post until I get caught up. I could tell you all about our cruise, how Damion got really really bad sun burnt and had to see a doctor on board, how we have both decided that cruises really aren't our thing, how the girls had an awesome time and the day at Freeport was my favorite - but I won't. Not until I get caught up at work, and that doesn't look like it's gonna happen any time soon. I hope you understand ;)

School's out for summer!
Emma-Leigh is officially on Summer break - Madison has 25 more minutes...where does the time go?
MADISON MADE CHEERLEADING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I get a "heck yeah"?!
I am so relieved the stress and worry is finally over. Now I can sleep at night. Out of her group of friends, 6 of them tried out for the team. 2 of them didn't make it. I was the bearer of THE news - be it good or bad - depended on who was receiving the news. Here's what happened - all the girls were at Julia's birthday/pool party friday night from 6-8. The names were to be posted on the door at the school between 7 and 7:30pm. I met Cindy at the pool at 6 and she and I went to Panera (where we had a hard time eating) and then went to Cane Creek immediately after to check the door. The plan was for us to take a picture of the paper and bring it back to the party for the girls to see - they were expecting us.

Julia was #25, Amelia was #26, Ashley #27, Madison #28, Bayley #29 and Cameron #30.
I felt sorry for Cameron. She's a good cheerleader - apparently they judge on more than just cheer ability. Amelia was upset but not distraught - she had a feeling she wouldn't make it. Both plan to try out for volleyball in the fall.
Saturday we went to the pool. Lots of fun was had by all :)
Sunday morning we woke up bright and early and went to breakfast at Grove Park Inn for an early Father's Day surprise for Dad, Damion, Brett and Shawn. Here's a great picture of Damion and I at breakfast.

He hates it when I have the camera out (which is ALL the time).
After breakfast, the guys stayed to play golf and the girls went to the pool - except for April and Abigail - April was busy being efficient and productive with getting things ready for next week - this time next week we will be cruising, baby! I can now be excited about our vaca now that all this cheerleading stuff is over with. Whew!
So it's back to the grind today at work. I did manage to take a picture of the kids this morning - it being their last day of school and all. Here's a picture of them on the first day of school...

And here's today - their last day of school...

Can you tell they're over it? Madison wasn't happy with anything - she is NOT a morning person. Emma-Leigh said she had a headache. Brody is trying to figure out what in the world is wrong with Emma-Leigh because she was fine just a second ago and Bayley just wants to get this over with.
Ha Ha! Gotta love them!

It's a rainy thursday...I'm all alone in this log cabin. Not completely alone of course. 3 doctors are here and their patients, but Chris (Dr. T's son), hasn't shown up today....not sure what the story is there but that is okay.
I get to volunteer in Emma-Leigh's classroom today. They are having a spelling bee and I am so excited to be in on it. The entire 2nd grade could choose if they'd rather participate in a Bingo game or a spelling bee - EL chose the spelling bee. She's a great speller and I am thrilled that she chose it. They will be doing 3rd grade words - I hope she does well.
Cheerleading tryouts are tomorrow. The song you are hearing is what I have been hearing all week. It is for their dance routine. Here's a couple pictures of Madison practicing on the back porch.

Her dance looks great to me - keep your fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow night. I'm not sure if we will know who is on the team tomorrow or if they will have to wait until Monday. I am having a hard time just getting thru this week, I can't wait until Monday!

Change is good, right?
I'm not feeling it. I don't like change. All that I've known for 5 years in regards to work has changed. I used to not dread coming to work. It was fun. Not so much anymore. It's not really fun, it's work.
This past weekend we celebrated Riley's 2nd birthday!!! I can not believe how much time flies. Time is my enemy!! Here are a few pictures.

Pictures of me are always terrible!!! Pictures of Riley are always great!

High five!! Best pals!
The party was lots of fun! Mickey and Minnie even came for a surprise visit! Too bad I missed that part - I was picking Madison up from the Summerfest at her school.
Sunday was EL's soccer awards banquet at church. BIG MISTAKE. NEVER AGAIN. Damion went (hooray!) but it was so not fun. We got to church for service at 11am and had to sit on the floor. There were no open seats! It was packed. After service was lunch (Cici's Pizza) then the awards were to start at 1:30. It was such a long drawn out thing and in the end, there weren't any awards at all - just a soccer ball for every participant. I would have bought her 5 soccer balls had I known. Anyway, after church we took Damion home and headed straight to the pool for some Vitamin D.

It's been a busy week this week so far. No time for facebook or email...Dr. Travis's son, Chris is here helping me answer the phones. He's doing a pretty good job. We have interviews scheduled for Thursday and Friday :(

Saturday, Riley's 2nd bday bash!
Real quick post - I'm kinda in a hurry...
EL's soccer stuff was cancelled last night - rain, again - imagine that!
Madison went for her first job last night - babysitting! She stayed with a little girl from EL's soccer team and her brother. They are 6 and 9. She was gone for about 2 and a half hours and made $30. She was very excited.
Saturday school today. You would have thought today was Monday. My kids were dragging! I came to work to type 2 reports since my computer at home is fried. I've just finished and am headed to the pool!!! Yay! Shh...don't tell my kids.
Riley's bday party is at 2pm. EL's last soccer game is at 3pm - guess we are going to skip it.
Sad day yesterday at work. Too sad for me to even post much about it. I'm still recovering. Aimee will not be working with me at Carolina Mountain Psychiatry anymore. I'm bummed.
Off to the pool - alone :)

Recap - Memorial Day Weekend
Wednesday already! Okay...here's a recap...
Friday night soccer practice got rained out. So Madison, Emma-Leigh and Bayley all went with me to Wal-Mart for food for the lake. We did McDonald's for dinner.
Saturday morning, soccer game at 11am. Of course the only game of the season at 11am happens to be the day we want to get down to the lake as soon as we can. Bad game. EL didn't want to play. All she was worried about was getting to the lake.

After the game, we made a Silly Bandz run for Jaidyn & Ayla and had no luck. Then we went home to get our refrigerated stuff and Maggie & Muffin. They were so excited to go on a field trip! The weather on Saturday was GORGEOUS. Too bad we didn't get down there until around 2pm and was only out on the water for about 3 hours. I used a whole can of sunscreen that day. I figured we had 2 more days in the sun, didn't want to get burnt on the first day....I didn't know it was gonna rain from that night on. HEAVY SIGH. We cooked out at mom and dad's for Brett's bday dinner Saturday night. Chicken, corn, baked beans, bread. Very good. Sunday we woke up to rain. It cleared up a little in the afternoon and we went out, only for about 2 hours. We got caught in a storm on the way back. Not fun. Sunday night we went to dinner at Fatz for Brett's bday. Ayla was so very tired and had been asleep in Tiff's arms for quite a while. She decided to pass her off to dad....that's when the unthinkable happened...Dad looks at me and says...

She.Just.Peed - ALL.OVER.ME. I died laughing. Everybody did. We couldn't help it!
Here he is trying to clean himself up with the napkin Tiff handed him.

Luckily Todd had a pair of shorts in the car dad could change in to. So that was about all the excitement we had. Another storm can in Sunday night...and never let up. We packed up Monday morning and headed back home. We did have a good time though, don't get me wrong. I was just disappointed the weather didn't cooperate. But we've got all summer, right? I wish I didn't have to work during the summer :(

Brett, Riley, Madison and Bayley taking a ride on the golf cart.

Emma-Leigh and Jaidyn chilling out in the camper reading books. I love to see them reading!

Sarah & I loving some corn!
I forgot my camera the first day :( so my pics are limited.

Here's the birthday boy reading his card from mom and dad.
Soccer cookout Friday night after practice...Saturday school and Riley's bday party on Saturday afternoon. Sunday is the soccer banquet at church. They'll have lunch and a magic show for the kids too. I'm hoping there will still be time to hit the pool this weekend. I'm thinking I skip cleaning the house for the 3rd weekend in a row and go while the girls are at school on Saturday! I'm such a bad mom. LOL

Ready for the weekend!
Slack blog but I don't want to get too far behind...
Mine and Damion's anniversary was yesterday. 9 years! I got him a card and put it beside his coffee yesterday morning. He liked it, smiled, gave me a hug and kiss but I didn't get anything in return!! (I'm stomping my feet and frowning.) He said last night he would get me a new phone today. Do I really need a new phone? I don't think I do. I have a blackberry curve 8330...the 8530's are pretty nice though...we will see ;)
Church was last night. Last night of Awana for Emma-Leigh. The Timothy Awards are next week. She had a great time going to the Sparks Store and stocking up on ... junk. She did get Damion a necklace of a cross and a baseball keychain for Father's Day. She gave it to him last night though. She just couldn't wait until Father's Day.
Last day of EOG's for Madison was today. Math. I hope she did well. Exciting adventures coming up this weekend! We are lake bound! All the family will be coming and Bayley will be tagging along. It's her first time to the lake with us and she and Madison are very excited. 25 days until the cruise!
